Technology of injection molding of thermoplastic test specimens
Khamzin, Yersin ; Petruš, Josef (referee) ; Kučera, František (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the optimization of technological parameters of plastic injection molding and the study of the influence of technological parameters on the quality of molded test specimens’ type 1A. The quality of molded parts for 3 types of polypropylene (PP) with different melt flow rate (Mosten GB 002, Mosten GB 218, Mosten MA 230) and 1 type of polystyrene (PS) (Krasten PS GP 154) was evaluated in terms of dimensional stability and weight. The contribution of software for modeling the plastic injection molding process was evaluated in this work. SOLIDWORKS Plastics software was used to optimize technological parameters. The construction of the bodies, mold and cooling system was constructed, and test bodies were produced on the basis of parameters obtained from the simulation of the injection molding process. Their quality parameters were compared with a 3D model and for each of the studied materials the optimal technological parameters were selected in terms of quality and the degree of influence of individual injection parameters on the quality of moldings was evaluated. The accordance of the results of the theoretical simulation with the real experiment was proved and a computational module independent of the optimized quality parameters, generally suitable for optimizing the quality parameters of the injected parts, was developed.
Production of HTHT32 / 40 GI Double Elbow
Kříbala, Milan ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Žák, Ladislav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of an injection mold for manufacturing double elbow, which finds its use in the siphon assembly. The part will be made of polypropylene with the trade name Tatren HT 25 11. The production batch size is set at 100,000 units in 3 months. Firstly, the analysis of the part is done including a detailed specification of its function and criteria that must be met by the component. Furthermore, a suitable technology for the production of the part is chosen. The theory of injection molding and mold design is made on the basis of the chosen injection technology. Subsequently, in the practical part is made a complete design of injection mold including technological calculations and simulations. An injection molding machine is chosen for the proposed injection mold. The conclusion of the thesis consists of technical - economic evaluation of the production of double elbow.
Different methods of connecting electrical parts in car locks
Kollár, Pavel ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Žák, Ladislav (advisor)
This Diploma thesis is aimed at various ways of connecting electrical parts in car locks. This part of the thesis includes technologies of electric cables, printed circuit boards, lead frames, 3D-MID technology and technology of electroconductive plastics materials. Listed technologies are compared. The aim of the practical thesis portion is the application of electroconductive plastic materials on the given part. For this purpose necessary changes were designed in the provided small series injection mold. The thesis also includes drawing documentation of the designed construction changes in the injection mold, as well as economic appraisal of the prototype manufacturing fees.
Technical viscous curve for injection molding
Hejkalová, Anna ; Svoboda, Jan (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
Injection molding is highly dependent on flow qualities of plastics. The bachelor thesis compares the conventional measurement of their rheological attributes with the method of injection molding to the technical viscous curve. This method enables to determine the optimum injection rate at which injection resistance does not allow significant improvement of the melt’s flow attributes, on the contrary increases the energy consumption of the process. At the same time, the thesis tries to prove the advantage of this method.
Rationalization technology of production forms
Kalous, Ondřej ; Mouralová, Kateřina (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis Rationalization technology of production tools is divided into two parts. The first part is focused on injection molding of plastic materials and analysis current status of production injection tools. The second part contains proposal of rationalization steps in the production process and evaluation of rationalization.
Production technology of the connector body from recykled material
Brhel, Michal ; Sedlařík, Vladimír (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
Study developed during the Master's degree studies of Mechanical Engineering deals with the use of recycled plastic in the injection molding and its influence on the mechanical properties of the mold. Examined product is used in the automotive industry as a connector body. The housing is manufactured from a plastic material, polyamide. The annual production volume of 3 000 000 pieces. According to tests specified in standard USCAR2 regrind influence on mechanical properties and dimensions was evaluated. After the technical evaluation of the project, research was also judged from economic point of view. In this task, savings with the different content of the recycled material during production was calculated. The final chapters justify change of properties and they are proposing the use of recycled materials in practice.
Quality control of injection molded plastics using X-ray computer tomography
Figar, Erik ; Šrámek, Jan (referee) ; Jankových, Róbert (advisor)
This Master‘s thesis deals with an aplication of computed tomography as the technology for quality control check of the plastic parts made by the injection molding process. The analyses were performed on two different types of plastic parts. These parts were delivered by two companies and they included the drawing documentation and CAD models. These plastic parts were analyzed according to their qualitative requirements. The analyses included evaluation of the geometric tolerances and porosity analysis with numerical and graphical evaluation. The new module for tool correction ,which is part of VGStudio Max, was tested on parts that were not in accordance with the required tolerances. Afterwards the new corrected geometries were exported. At the end of this Master’s thesis the porosity comparison was assessed between two different voxel resolution CT data. This comparison shows the complexity of this phenomenon and the importance of voxel resolution settings.
The influence of conditioning on the mechanical properties of polymers produced by injection molding technology
Neužil, Tomáš ; Řehořek, Lukáš (referee) ; Válka, Libor (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to determine change of mechanical properties of three types of damp polymeric materials (polyamides) depending on the water content inside material. Before testing, specimens of all three types of materials were placed inside the air conditioning chambers until equilibrium (conditioned) state was reached when the specimens received the maximum possible amount of water from the environment. A total of three conditioning levels were set, representing besides the standard level of conditioning both extreme states like state when the material was fully dried and the state where the material content the largest possible amount of water. With the increasing content of water bound in material, there is a characteristic change in the mechanical properties of the material, such as a decrease in strength and modulus of elasticity and an increase in toughness and ductility. To examine material properties change, tensile and Charpy impact tests were performed, Charpy impact tests were performed for both specimens with and without a notch. Besides changes in mechanical properties, the rate of water absorption was also observed depending on the materials and its filling.
Analysis of errors in the manufacturing process and their elimination
Kolář, Ladislav ; Fiala, Alois (referee) ; Koška, Petr (advisor)
My thesis presents the process of electromagnet production, including how the process is organised. My goal is to improve these techniques by refining them. To obtain the required data, the company's records were extracted and measurements were taken directly from the manufacturing process. Through examination of the data, any processes which created financial or temporal deficits were identified. Conclusions were then offered to solve these problem areas. These mainly involve alterations to the machinery settings, the delivery of materials and the management of production.
Production technology of the plastic top cover
Majerčíková, Erika ; Žák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
This thesis deals with the production technology of the plastic top cover by injection molding. Series production is set at 500 000 units, for which the required period of delivery is 9 months. A literary study is developed, focusing on the technology of injection molding in molds in the first part of the thesis. The second part is practical, which includes a design technology for the manufacturing of the plastic top cover, namely: the choice of material, determination of process parameters, the choice of the injection molding machine, and the injection mold design. The chosen material is a polyamide 6 with 30 % share of the glass. According to technological parameters of injection, the injection molding machine, Engel ES 200/65, was chosen. The injection mold is composed of standards parts of the company Meusburger and HASCO.
